Metalworking & Steel Electric Cylinder Applications

Application Solution · Typical Configuration. Electric cylinders may be evaluated for controlled pressing, forming, tensioning and heavy-load positioning when force profiles, guidance and duty cycle are defined. This is an engineering overview, not a report of a delivered NEFEIT steel-plant project.

Where Electric Actuation Fits

Pressing and Forming

A servo electric cylinder may deliver a programmed stroke in a guided press arrangement. Determine force versus travel, tooling alignment, peak loads and thermal duty before proposing a configuration. The machine structure must carry the complete reaction load.

Tensioning and Heavy-Load Positioning

Positioning or tensioning axes need a defined load path, external guidance where appropriate, protection from shock and debris, and a safe holding state. Electric actuation suitability depends on actual process forces and cycle demands.

Engineering Checks Before Specification

Confirm continuous and peak thrust, travel, working speed, shock or off-axis loads, cycle duty, mounting reactions, ambient temperature, contamination and maintenance access. Check screw-life assumptions and mechanical limits against the actual force profile; do not infer capacity from a product photo.

Typical Configuration and Evidence

A candidate system may pair an appropriately sized electric cylinder, compatible servo motor and drive, guided tooling, feedback and machine controls. NEFEIT must confirm the model and acceptance criteria against project data. No press-force accuracy, production result or service-life figure is claimed for this example.
